We were very happy with our stay at the grand. The front desk staff was very friendly, and the accomodations were comfortable, with a fridge in the room which we definitely liked. The hotel is reasonably priced compared to others in the area and close to everything. We didn't have to use our rental car our entire stay. Also, the... more

I had a terrible experience with the Manager of the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. After taking our credit card number, the manager, Abby, refused to take our reservation when she found out that we were having a drink. I am not sure if she allows drinking in the hotel, but she told me that drinking was not allowed. When on... more

Our fall vacation with my son and a good friend was quickly spoiled by the exceptionally RUDE business manager Abbey, at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. Come here only if you want the staff here to put a DAMPER on your trip. When we were making reservations, she was UNPROFESIONAL , SNAPPY and OFFENSIVE. DO NOT GO TO this hotel... more

Chose this hotel for it's location and Tripadvisor reviews, paying careful attention to the consistency of cleanliness reviews as that is of the utmost importance to me. All the good things folks say about this place are true; housekeeping is meticulous and gracious, at least here on the fourth floor where we are at the moment. Desk staff are also... more

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights (South Wing). It was clean and neat; the staff was very helpful; and it had lots of private outdoor parking. Tours stay here but it didn't feel crowded in the breakfast room or give trouble getting the single elevator. It is a pleasant 10 to 15 minute walk to the downtown... more

We really liked this place. We stayed at the hotel for a week. The hotel is one block from the free public buses which take you all over the Acadia National Park so you don't have to deal with inadequate parking there. It's also right on the end of the main street, so that numerous good restaurants are within walking... more

We come to Bar Harbor almost every summer and we usually stay at the Bar Harbor Inn so this was our first stay at the Grand and we were very happy here. We love the BHI, but now that our kids are teenagers I wanted to see if I could find someplace less expensive so that we could afford 2... more

The location is nice. We walked everywhere. The staff is very nice and extremely helpful. Our room was spacious, but it could use some updating. The linens are worn thin. The breakfast is below the average continental breakfast and the coffee is terrible. But it did have the basics like cereal, juice and toast. more

We just arrived home after another great trip to Bar Harbor. If you've never been, then you don't know what you're missing! Acadia is one of the most gorgeous places in the US & Bar Harbor a wonderful little town filled with cute shops and mostly good restaurants (See reviews of Rupununi Restaurant for not-so-good restaurant tip). If you are... more

We had to go to Maine to pick up a child at the Maine Media Workshops, and decided to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia, especially Jordan Pond, while we had the opportunity. Usually I plan my trips obsessively, researching hotels and making reservations ahead of time. I chose to let this trip determine where we went. We went to a... more
