This is a new hotel to the Marriott group and it is wonderful. Great staff, all really helpful, good shuttle bus, lovely pool and bar area, great concierge lounge and the rooms are great. Stay here if you can. Right next to the police station but lovely views of the park and river! more

Marriott Hotels are usually nice, but this one is more than that. When we arrived our room was not ready, so they gave us gift cards for wine and flatbread. The hotel is not much to look at on the outside, but the inside is gorgeous, rooms huge, with a small refrigerator, in room safe, Bath and Body Works toiletries... more

We stayed in the Marriott for a wedding the weekend of May 30-June 1, 2008. On Friday night we were placed in room 330. What ever yu do , do not let anyone give you a room on the third floor on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, because the hotel has a bar at the end of the third... more

The Charleston Marriott converted from a Sheraton about a year ago and is a first-rate property (figure 4 ½ stars). However, it is not walking distance to the historic district so you need to use the shuttle ($6 per day, per person) or drive (which we did and found decent parking). The hotel lobby has a modern feel with check-in... more

We stayed one night in March. There was a hurricane that blew thru shortly after we checked in (7pm) so we didn't get to enjoy the hotel. We had to stay in the lobby on the floor for most of the night. They kept us calm by providing water and snacks. While I realize this was an act of nature,... more

What a relief to find such a wonderful hotel. We had just come to the city with a bad taste in our mouths about a hotel in nearby Isle of Palms. We need something great to overcome the disppointment. Well the Marriott did the trick! We upgraded to business class so we could have use of the concierge on the... more

Stayed at this riverview hotel before it was a Marriot, during renovation, and after completion. Great room. Super check-in. Excellent parking. Wonderful service. Nice part of town (there’s a good laid back seafood restaurant in the public dock area down the street) A short drive to downtown. While it helps to know where the parking garages are downtown, I had... more

Stayed there on New Year's eve 2008. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are nicely appointed. We had a slight problem with lots of condensation in the room - not sure why. But the room was very clean. The concierge lounge was *very* busy on new year's day, and most of the food was out by 9:30am (breakfast cut-off was... more

My family and I just concluded a very nice stay at the Charleston Marriott. We were participating in a local boating event downtown and elected to stay here due to its proximity to the event. Boy, was I surprised! The property was excellent in all respects. The check in and valet service was professional, speedy, and very nice. The rooms... more

After staying on the Isle of Palm for a few days, my wife and I decided to stay in Charleston for one night before we flew home. I wanted to stay in a Marriott to accumulate stays and points. Big Mistake. Should have stayed in the Historic District area. As for the hotel, it seems tired. Some improvements, but appear... more
