My wife and I stayed at the Carlisle House B&B for a total of 4 nights. It was a marvelous experience to say the least, and certainly the best B&B we ever stayed at in all our travels (23+ years). Our room (the old kitchen) was very clean and very spacious, and although not one of the house's more traditional... more

We stayed at The Carlisle House while touring Dickinson College and Franklin & Marshall College with our son. We were in need of a good night's sleep in a comfortable environment after having a horrible experience at another b&b in NY the night before. The Carlisle House provided us that and more. Mary and Alan are the perfect host and... more

We stayed at the Carlisle House upon the recommendation of an admissions counselor at Dickinson College. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The proprietors, Mary and Alan, were the best. They treated us like family from the moment of our arrival. They provided us with restaurant recommendations, local insights, and answered all our questions.... more

PA CARLISLE / CARLISLE HOUSE B&B . I have been hesitant to reveal my favorite places because I don't want them to be all FULL with YOU LOT when I want to stay there again. I value truth though, so here's a "secret" favorite. Carlisle House is in my personal Top Five good places to stay with a roof (vs... more

My son and I were overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness, generosity, hospitality and attention to detail demonstrated by Alan and Mary. I would recommend this to anyone for any reason... the Carlisle House is worth a trip to Carlisle, PA alone! more

We were extremely pleased with our accomodation at the Carlisle House. We had previously stayed at a major hotel in Harrisburg, PA and the comfort and ambiance at the Carlisle House was much superior. The actual building was beautiful and the renovations to make this House a B&B were tastefully done. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Would definitely... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Carlisle House. We stayed in the Hearth Room and appreciated the private entry. Our room was charming, cozy, and comfortable (great mattress), with lovely extra touches - wine glasses, stocked fridge ... Mary and Alan are welcoming, gracious hosts, and the breakfasts are outstanding! more

My fiancee and I stayed at the Carlisle House on our way to pick up a new puppy. The experience was wonderful, starting with the owners, Mary and Alan. Both made us feel as if we were staying at a friends house. They were warm and cordial and gave us excellent recommendations for the Carlisle area. The room we stayed... more
