We have been to Mexico 8 times in the last 6 years, mostly to 5 star resorts. Gran Bahia Principe is a good 3 stars resort but definitely not a 5 stars. If you want to try a TRUE 5 star you are in the wrong place. Average food, bad drinks, rocky beach and ugly service that what Gran Bahia... more

Stayed at the GBP Coba between 7th - 21st July 2008. I decided to write a review on here as i always read the reviews of any hotel i visit and find them very helpful so thought this may help others! I travelled with my boyfriend who booked the hotel for us after we stayed at the GBP Punta cana,... more

First I would like to thank everyone who wrote a review in trip advisor, it is very helpful to book and plan for a vacation. We stayed at coba for a week as a family, and I found it the best place I went in the last 3 years. Bahia principe is a combination of 3 hotels: akumal, tulum and... more

Family of 4, children aged 9 & 11, we booked through First Choice and it was good value for money. Flights on-time, but be aware that we arrived in Cancun at 4pm and didn't get to resort until 8pm (2am Uk time) we seemed to wait at airport for ages for everyone to board coach - tough on kids, but... more

Really nice resort. Loved it! Definitely would go back. I went with my husband and I (no kids for this trip) at the end of June for a week and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Beach: The beach was wonderful. Many inlets to swim in. A little rocky in some spots but once you get past the rocks the bottom is... more

Just returned from GRAN BAHIA PRINCIPE COBA MAYAN RIVIERA. Beautiful property, staff very professional. The only reason we dont give our trip a 5* rating is we hear IBEROSTAR PARAISO LINDO AND MAYA are 5 * properties(and twice the price as well )So keeping that in mind the COBA is almost perfect . Yes the beach isn't the greatest but everything else... more

Recently (July 7-14/08) my family and I(wife and 2 boys 8 &11) vacationed in Mexico’s Rivera Maya at the Grand Bahia Pricncipe Coba. I picked this resort because last summer our family vacationed in Jamaica at the Grand Bahia Principe and really enjoyed ourselves, so my expectations with the resort in Mexico were high based on what we experienced in... more

We stayed at the GBP Coba from the 8th-15th July. Although we were not told which of the 3 hotels at the GBP we would be staying in, we decided to email the Coba directly to book a room based on the reviews we read on Tripadvisor beforehand. Thank you to all the reviewers and contributors to the forum who... more

I need to preface this review with the fact that a 5 star All Inclusive is rated differently than a 5 star hotel. In reading some of the prior reviews, some people seemed to confuse the two separate categories. You definitely can not expect to get the same quality of service at an all inclusive that you would recieve at... more

Honest Review! I would say that if you want the best service, then go to the coba because the staff here were brilliant! We didnt mind the bus buggy to the beach at all as its only minutes and they run constantly. To be honest i was disapointed with the beach, the only exotic place i have been was Dominican... more
