I have stayed at the Wilmingtonian before and love each visit. It is so comfy that I feel that I am on vacation even though I am traveling on business. The staff is friendly. The rooms are neat and clean. I love that you can walk to the water. I love the decor of each room. The beds are great!... more

Every bit of our experience at the Wilmingtonian was superb! We were greeted by two incredibly friendly and helpful staff members upon arrival, thoroughly enjoyed our one bedroom suite in a historic building, loved rocking in the chairs on the balcony and had a fantastic breakfast. This hotel is centrally located in historic downtown and walking distance to many attractions.... more

Horrible. I actually didnt bother to book a room after speaking with their reservation line. They said they charge an extra $10 per person in the room. I told them the only other person in the room would be our 8-MONTH old infant. If you can believe this, they said I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA $10 a night... more

Saw the other reviews and have always trusted TripAdvisor travelers. The greeting we received from David (at the front desk) was warm and friendly. The room (Santa Fe Suite) was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The wide plank hardwood floor really added to the ambiance. The buildings are all worthy of a photo and the location was nice as well. My... more

We have traveled extensively and this is by far the worst breakfast we have encounter. The breakfast is better at very inexpensive motels. Housekeeping was untimely; normally late in the afternoon. Parking was inadequate meaning they have more guests than spaces. You are forced to park in paid parking and then you have to pay $5 to park. On weekends... more

We spent two daysat the Wilmintonian in early October and we have to say we were dis-appointed in many ways. We stayed in the Henry Miller Suite, and first off, we have no idea what the theme of this room was. Maybe the hotel thinks Henry Miller would have liked it? We stayed once in a Hemingway suite and that... more

Ours was a single night stop enroute to Charleston. We didn't use a fraction of the in-room facilities but was impressed with the layout. In-room filter coffee was very good and breakfast was adequate though not impressive. Rocking chairs on verandah were relaxing after long drive. Inn well situated close to charming old centre and river front. Young lad at... more

Rather than a grand old place, this hotel is a group of well-kept buildings very close to the historic district. It is was enjoyable walking around the old neighborhoods and down along the Riverwalk. There was no shortage of nice restaurants to choose from. A lively night scene for young folks, too, and not too noisy. The area was quiet... more

I was looking for a romantic place to stay before my bf deployed to Iraq. Last time we were in Wilmington, we stayed at The Clarendon Inn which is right next door to The Wilmingtonian so we decided to try it. I knew the Cinema House would have different themes but it's hard to feel romantic in a suite that... more

Very noisy. Hundreds of frogs were in the fountain....and were courting! The airconditioning units in the next building were all that we could hear....when they were not drowned out by the frogs. more
