I have stayed at many Ithaca hotels and although the Econo Lodge has many fine qualities. I have stayed at the Statler, the Marriott's Courtyard, the Hampton Inn, La Tourelle, the Hilton Garden and the Best Western. Had a reservation held, but the service agent who took my reservation told me the wrong cancellation time. I tried to cancel the reservation in the time I was told, and was then told that it was too late. So they charged me for a day that I never stayed there. We stayed here because all the "finer" hotels were booked. The rooms are clean and pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms clean, but not fancy. Decent hotel for the price. I agree the bed was hard. But the room was clean and the location was good. Mall is across the street if you need to kill some time. And the continental breakfast was good. When returning to Ithaca, I would stay again. more
