The new rooms at this former Reno Hilton are very nice, probably one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. Great bathrooms (with a TV) big flat screen in the main part of the room, comfortable beds, dark colors, very well done. And the rest of the facility is very nice as well, very family friendly with a... more

This could be a great place to stay, if they would just deal with some of their customer service issues. The room was very nice (too dark as has been mentioned before). The bed was very, very comfortable. The sheets & towels were great. Very nice bathroom. And, the room was quiet (except for noise from the "pool party" 27... more

My husband and I booked a room at the Grand Sierra for an overnight trip. We were greeted by the valet service who parked our car complimentary and were very helpful. Front desk receptionists were also very nice and friendly. Hotel ammenities were okay, if you want to have a nice dinner at one of the upscale restaurants I would... more

Approaching the last two days of a cross-country road trip, we were looking for something a little bit more comfortable and relaxing to reward ourselves for surviving the drive through Nebraska and the salt flats of Utah. Our expectations were rather low (this is Reno, not Vegas!) but when we saw a room for under $100/night we figured it was... more

The Grand Sierra was a mixed bag for my family. Make sure you book a "new" room on one of the upper floors. These rooms are very spacious and have a very modern look. As with other reviewers, I agree that the rooms and hallways of this newly remodeled hotel are way too dark. Not sure why they chose to... more

I have been coming to this property for 20 years. It has all the features I want in a hotel/casino: cheap spacious rooms, entertainment, good food, and excellent gaming. The new rooms in the Summit section of the hotel are a little too dark as other posters have mentioned, but are considerably nicer than the non-rennovated rooms. After reading some... more

Had no idea where to stay in Reno, so we googled and picked this one after reading some reviews. Wow what a great pick. The room (1705) was very clean and neat, 42 inch flat screen in the room and a 15 or 17 inch flat screen in the bathroom. Watched sports center while taking a shower. The bed was... more

We made last minute plans to stay at the GSR&C - got a great price and now I know why. We were NOT in the Summit rooms/floors. Photos shown on the webiste and by TripAdvisor members are not 100% representative of all of the rooms offered by GSR&C. Those nice rooms were our mirage..... Our room looked SO dated --... more

This hotel used to be the Hilton, and is now under new ownership. We visited the bowling alley a few times in the previous year, and all I could remember was how boring and slow the casino and hotel appeared. I guess they were undergoing renovations during that time. My husband and I stayed at the Summit for 2 nights.... more

Nice hotel, did a lot of updating and it shows. However, people should not be expecting Las Vegas. It tries, but it is Reno after all. That being said, I would have to say it's probably one of the nicest hotels in Reno. Definitely ask for a summit room, the others are awefull (probably because they are super cheap). Some... more
