I fully expected the hotel to be a little run-down for the price - that did not bother me nearly as much as the lousy customer service. We were greeted at the reception desk by a clerk that clearly didn't give a hoot about our business. We had reserved a non-smoking room with two queen beds, which was unavailable. Again,... more

The hotel is run down and is in need of major renovations. Our baggage with a bridesmaid dress and electronics was stolen from the main entrance in front of security while waiting to be moved into the baggage holding room while our room was getting ready. Actually our baggage never made it into the holding room but sat outside for... more

This place has quite a few negative reviews, but I decided for the price it might be worth a try. I knew beforehand of the "resort fee". A lot of resorts add those type charges when you check in. This was a moderate fee but covered pretty much anything, so if you use any of the facilities, it balances out.... more

After seeing some of the previous reviews on this website I was quite apprehensive about staying in the Tropicana but I was joining a large group of friends who had already booked it for a weekend away. I paid £110 for 3 nights in one of the Tower rooms. The room was very nice, clean, well furnished and had a... more

This is the worst hotel that I've ever been. I stayed in one of the "newly renovated" tower suites. The sheets smells like somebody else's body odor. Corridor and suite smells like those antique store/ thrift shop. I would recommend this to those who really missed their grandma's essence. Location though is not bad. more

As a travel agent that specializes in no-frills budget travel, I thought I'd give the Tropicana a chance on a trip to Vegas this month. They aren't the cheapest place on the Strip-- plenty of hotels have cheaper rooms, a lot of them recently updated. But... The Trop's a classic, so we gave it a shot. When we got to... more

I stayed here for 2 nights. Room was disgusting. Bed was sagging, and old. Decor was embarrasing. Strange chains held the light up. This place should be knocked. My room had a balcony view of what looked like a garbage area. I will never stay here again. more

Stayed Thurs, Fri, Sat Nights. I am a LV local and stay with my buddies when they came in to town. I am fully aware of the Trops change of ownership and almost closing and how the place has been neglected. We stayed in the Garden rooms and changed once as a bed was bad (saggy). The rooms are old... more

It's faded, but it's fine, especially at $49 a night -- the current base rate, if you don't count the phony $7.95 a night "resort fee." We stayed three nights on a package deal, were booked for a garden room, but upgraded to Island Tower without asking and/or charge. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Who could ask for... more

We stayed at the Tropicana for a week in July of 2007, and was invited back as a VIP guest this year. We were there from May 30 to June 2. They gave us 3 free nights in a suite in the Island Tower. The room is dated, but how long are you in the room? Everything worked good and... more
