Had to find a room last minute near a conference in Clayton, MO, and couldn't stomach the idea of $200+ rooms. Cheshire Lodge was charming, if a little faded and dusty. For the price, however, under $100, it couldn't be beat in the area. And having stayed in England a few years ago at a hotel w/very similar decor and... more

If you love staying in a Hilton, then dont stay here. If you are the type of person that cannot appreciate character than spend your time elsewhere. I am horrified to read the poor reviews ot this hotel. We had a wonderful time in this hotel. Its full of old charm and character, the fantasy suites were wonderful. We stayed... more

This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. EVERYTHING is closed or broken! The garage, restaurant, pub and pool ALL closed. The rooms are small, outdated and musty. The beds are like sleeping on the floor. The A/C did not work. The bathroom was very small and dirty. AVOID at all costs! more

The hotel does a good job in reminding you of a British Country Hotel. Nice lobby area, good van service. The beds were Very Hard, the tv and bathrooms could do with some updating, and the sheets were thin. The breakfast was OK... Doughnuts, English Muffins, Juice, Coffee and Apples. If you do not mind a hard mattress, this would... more

I love this place, great location outside Clayton, go to the Fox and the Hound for happy hour or a nitecap. Great business center. Clean, quiet, old school european. Not fancy but great value and nice place. Very safe and sweet staff. Don't hesitate to stay there. A landmark in STL! more

Good Location lots of charm. I have stayed here a number of times. My daughter has loved it since she was 4. It is old the bar is great. Not another plastic and drywalled Inn. You can usually get a great price and they will take you virtually anywhere locally to downtown. If you like sterile high priced hotels do... more

I attempted to stay at the Chesire in early March. I booked a room in the Sherwood Forest Fantasy Suite. The room was run down, the television was extremely small, no couch, just a sagging day bed....etc. Oddly enough none of this bothered me until my girlfriend and I pulled back the cover and sheets on the bed. To our... more

Too make a long story short, we were visiting friends for the weekend and stayed at the Cheshire Inn. Returning to the hotel on Saturday night, we were told that our friends could not walk us to our room....no visitors after 10pm. We questioned this, due to the fact that we had been there all weekend and not heard this... more

The area immediately around the hotel is completely under heavy construction--jack hammers and all. There was no heat on the entire 1st floor where our room was, #105. We called at 3:30 AM, when we woke up freezing, and they turned some heat on then. The construction noise began at 8 am and after a cold, sleepless night, we were... more

We stayed for one night. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The Inn is older, but not run down. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Fox and Hound Pub, located in the Inn, was charming. I would stay there again. more
