after reading some of the reviews, i wasn't sure if i was making the right decision by booking this hotel but my stay assured me that i had. firstly, they automatically upgraded me to the concierge level. nice. i highly recommend booking that level if feasible. it's on the 10th and 11th floors, or around there, and offers free breakfast,... more

1. Number one complaint was that Intercontinental put us in a room that had a mold and mildew infested bathroom. And it was in many places in the grout in the marble shower. This was incredibly gross. Not even a motel six would be this disgusting. I took 10 - 12 pictures I took with my I-Phone. The plumbing was... more

My girlfriends and I stayed at the Intercontinental for a Bachelorette party. The hotel was very nice. The rooms were spacious, modern, and the furnishings were new and stylish. There was a huge walk-in closet that we used for a roll-a-way bed. I can't imagine why you would need a walk-in in a hotel room, but it was nice for... more

When we removed the sheets the first night, there was a pee stain in the bed. It appeared they tried to bleach the stain out, but you could still tell there was a yellow stain on the bed (they changed the sheets for us). The next night, we got back and there was zero toilet paper in the room. The... more

Well, I was here in the winter for the first time in a decade I had a great time. I was skeptical to return because it's so outrageously overpriced, and because I can never trust hotels on central air systems in the summer. Usually the only way to cool down the room is by having an individual AC unit on... more

My family of 4 (husband, 2 children and I) just returned from a 17 day vacation. One of the hotels we stayed at during our vacation was the Intercontinental in Kansas City. I was somewhat concerned based on the prior reviews but am so happy we decided to stay at this hotel. It was great. Despite what others said there... more

I stayed at the InternContinental as part of a business trip booked by my host. Normally I avoid Holiday Inn associated hotels and after reading the online reviews of this particular hotel, I was pleasantly surprised. The service of the staff was outstanding. Examples: a bellhop offering me bottled water after I completed my run at 6:30 a.m. and being... more

Overall the hotel was nice, but not quite up to the five-star standards that Intercon holds itself to internationally. My wife and I stayed here when it was the Ritz and it stunk. Intercon took over the property since then and have made some much needed improvements. However, it still has the shadows of an older hotel that needs some... more

With a history of problems sleeping in hotels, I try to be as polite and concise in requesting a room located in a quite area. I was first placed in a corner room at the intersection of major boulevards and knew immediately the noise level was too much. Upon returning to the front desk I asked if my reservation limited... more

We stayed here for two nights because the hotel was selected as the headquarters hotel for out-of-town guests at a wedding in late May. Because of the Intercontinental 's reputation, we were expecting comfort and a degree of luxury. The room did have the luxury of being a large room, but that's where luxury ended. There was no offer of... more
