Stayed recently while on business to Decatur. This was my first stay at a Country Inn Suite and was satisfied with my stay. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. That's all I was looking for. I had to spend much of January in the Decatur area on business and always found the Country Inn to be nice place to be when I wasn't able to be at home. The staff was always friendly, the rooms were clean, breakfast was good and compared to the Ramada nearby the overall upkeep of the hotel was very nice.... more

Stayed one night in 6/2007 with two kids, 5 and 7 years old; approx $70/night. Hotel was clean enough. Breakfast was fine. Pool was bathtub-warm and shallow enough so that my 7 y/o (non-swimmer) could touch the bottom throughout the pool: "The best pool I've ever seen!" he lauded. Would stay there again. more

The public areas of this hotel need care. The elevator floor had two big piles of sand on it, dirty towels were left on the hallway floor outside the elevator. I have stayed at other Country Inn and Suites and have always been impressed with the service and the cleanliness of the rooms. This location; however, is the exception to the rule. The room was "junky" looking--wallpaper peeling, worn carpet, et cetera and not sparkling clean. My husband and I booked three nights over Christmas and the pillows were uncomfortable.... more

The Country Inns have nice rooms, spacious and usually very clean. I've had some of the best service from Country Inn and Suites (I stay in hotels around 50 nights a year) so I choose that brand when it's available. However, if my travels take me to Decatur, I won't stay here. Among the reasons: very rude at check in.... more
