I stayed here last summer and thought the Fairmont was excellent in every way - from the decor to service to the rooms, etc. I knew I'd be back and I was a walking advertisement for this hotel. Since then, they've renovated and still are in the process. Along with that comes problems - and I respect that - but... more

hotel rooms were reasonable. Very nice bathrooms with rainshowers. The room was recently painted and the smell was a bit strong. Two important flaws: Paper thin walls - I could literally hear the snoring next door; and hallways were in sad condition. The carpet has seen better days - loose in some spots, multiple paint marks etc. more

My husband had business in Chicago and I tagged along for a 5 night stay at the Fairmont. This was my first visit to Chicago. Upon check in the staff was friendly and attentive. We had a deluxe room on the 10th floor which had views of Millineum Park, observatory and the lake - beautiful! Our room was updated, contemporary,... more

Had a lovely stay at the Fairmont 4/11-15/08. We are Platinum with Fairmont President's Club and used a suite upgrade certificate to get a large (700 sf) and lovely suite for $429 with views south to Millenium Park, Art Institute and Field Museum. Room well-appointed, clean. Two large flat screen TV's. Had our 13 year old son with us. I... more

I recently stayed at the Fairmont Chicago and found it to be a fantastic hotel. Staff was always courteous and helpful - from the front desk staff at check-in to wait staff in Aria restaurant, to the maid who cleaned my room. The rooms were recently updated, with large flat-screen TV's, beautiful linens, and exceptional toiletries in each room. My... more

If you're a business traveler, stay away from this hotel. Their internet connectivity is provided by a company called Superclick. It tracks every website you go to. What this translates to is slow speeds, random redirects and, most devastatingly, difficulty accessing my secure work email via webmail. Vista noted the snooping, as did my remote email site, which blocked me... more

I was nervous about this hotel after reading some bad reviews, but it was fine. The check-in was a bit confusing, as I had booked through a conference site and they had got the dates wrong, but the Fairmont staff sorted it out. There was construction at the entrance site but aside from that, the hotel was very nice. The... more

We went to Chicago to see an exhibit at the Art Institute and selected the Fairmont because it was so close. Although the lobby is still being renovated, our experience at the hotel was uniformly positive. The room was nicely sized and newly remodeled and immaculate. The only glitch involved getting the room coffee replenished. The maid does not do... more

I stay here frequently when in Chicago since my company has a price deal there. This is not a sacrifice, the hotel is great and I would take my family there. Clean and well equipped rooms, great staff. It is a bit of a walk from the heart of "Michigan Avenue action". But the cab ride is cheap or in... more
