Don't let their "awards" fool you - since it dates back to 2003 ... When I've made the reservation by phone, the staff was extremely impatient and used the Lords name in vain not knowing I could hear her. The room was also small and the overall staff was very unfriendly. I regret paying extra to have access to a... more

I have been on SSI many times over the past two years. I have frequented the pub at The Village Inn and found it enjoyable. However, when I finally was able to stay at this charming inn, I was disappointed. I booked a room with two beds for me and a friend. I entered the room and was shocked at... more

Stayed one night at Village Inn and really enjoyed it. Quiet & comfortable. Live entertainment in the pub Sunday night. Breakfast more than adequate. more

I got married on St. Simon's Island at the Chapel at Epworth by the Sea. Our extended families stayed at the Village Inn and Pub for the wedding weekend. We had about 10 of the 28 rooms at the inn reserved for the wedding weekend. Everything was great! The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to... more

My husband, mother and I stayed one Saturday night, immediately prior to Christmas. Location was very convenient to some interesting unique gift shops and some typical touristy, commercial souvenir shops. Also, an easy walk to the pier. The inn has a nice historic personality with a cozy feel. Beds were nice. Bathrooms were just fine. Bath robes very nice. Personal... more

Good Location within walking distance of 'downtown' restaurants, shops etc and pier and lighthouse. Directly opposite a Dairy Queen, however, which wasn't a problem, but not quite what we'd been expecting! Our overall experience of the staff, particularly when booking, was that they were a little surly and didn't reply to e-mails, so again not a huge problem but not... more

The Pub is the best thing about this Inn. It is laid back and they have great cocktails and the bartender was the friendliest person there. However, the Inn itself was NOT worth the two hundred plus per night. The customer service was below average. I called the day before our stay to arrange a massage as offered on their... more

Was in St. Simons for a conference and took a trip to the village. The Village Inn & Pub is a must stop for a cocktail. Their relaxing cozy environment is a great place to mingle. The owner, Janet Jones is a pleasure. All the best to the staff. more

Myself and my fiancee stay here for 2 nights in a standard King room. The room was very nice and clean with a nice small deck out some double doors. The bed was very comfortable with exellent linen and chocolates on the bed on our arrival. The bathroom was very nicely decorated and clean with two robes for our use... more

In many ways, the Village Inn and Pub on St. Simmons Island typifies what I woud consider to be the ideal hotel: independent, full of charm, in a beautiful environment, luxurious rooms, nice pool, all without pretention and exorbitant prices. Walking distance to great restaurants and the waterfront was great as well. The downsides: the "pub" part of the hotel,... more
