Our party were allocated two adjacent rooms on the mezzanine floor overlooking the cavernous hall pictured on websites featuring this property. The disinterested receptionist kept us waiting 15 minutes to check in while she placed a succession of telephone callers on hold. Her attitude didn't improve towards hotel guests over the three nights we spent there. The staff only evinced... more

I read the reviews, but booked anyway. I am very happy that I did. When we arrived at the property, we were promptly checked in and directed to our room. It was lovely. It is apparent that the hotel rooms have been recently refurbished. The room was fresh and clean, with European-style linens, and modern, elegant fabrics. The king-sized bed... more

We found this hotel in room saver book, where it featured a full page advert, which described itself as being great, it seemed to have everything under one roof, i.e bar, restaurant, pool etc etc. Now for what we found..... On arrival entered the lobby to find it deserted upon further inspection we found the whole place to be deserted... more

Stayed one night at the Port of Islands Resort and Marina. Had read some previous poor reviews but decided to stay one night. The location, passing through the southern Everglades is good. the pool area and the marina are very nice. Had a nice trip to see the Manatee from the marina with Capt Dave. However the hotel is being... more

The website is very decieving and i asked the lady at the front desk what the deal was. She explained that across the street is the Port of the Island Resort and Marina soon to be introduced as Retreat del Sol at Port of the Islands, and that orbitz was using there pictures for the hotel called just Port Of... more

After reviewing the hotels website and reading some other reviews, we decided to go with this hotel. It was priced at a bargain of $91 per night on Cheaptickets.com, so we couldn't pass it up. The hotel's website is a lie and is very deceiving. I wish we would have just stayed at the Super 8 in Naples. This place... more

We found out about this place from a travel book dated 2006 that called it a "Full service resort" and was called "Ultra-Deluxe". It was far from that. I would say it's similar to a decent La Quinta. Maybe 2.5 stars. Checkin person wasn't particularly talkative, but it went pretty smooth. The place was absolutely empty giving it a very... more

Of the seven nights we stayed in Florida in February, this was by far and away the best. We were driven in here by oncoming thunderstorms in the bay and expected to pay an arm and a leg, but found the prices to be no different to those elsewhere. The room, located off the main atrium was adequate, with a... more

This was the first time out of a dozen stays that the prior Trip Advisor reviews weren’t consistent with our experience. Maybe management changed between the previous reviews in 2004 and our stay. When we made our reservations we were told for $135/night we'd have a room overlooking the pool and have a queen size bed. Well, we were in... more

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The hotel was once a 5 star hotel back in the 30s, but the city did not take off as planned due to hurricane Donna and other issues. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are adequate. The hotel is near Everglades City, which unless you are fishing, kayaking, or... more
