The concept is better than the reality at the Sanctuary, South Beach. Converted from a 1950's style, center-court hotel, the workmanship is excellent. Finishes and furnishings are first rate. This hotel is very nicely accommodated and my mother and I enjoyed our stay for the most part. However, be wary....the pool is only knee-deep...literally. We stayed here for our 1st anniversary and had a wonderful time. the sanctuary is more like having your own apartment than stayin in a hotel. the staff are there if you really need them but not very chatty or helpful.. also the bar shuts at around 10pm some nights and as it is in the corner of the restaurant... more
