If only we had read some of these reviews ahead of time! The big attraction was one of the few establishments advertising two-bedroom suites. How great that my traveling companion and I could have some privacy at a reasonable rate. Wrong!! The second bedroom had no access to the bathroom except through the other bedroom. Furthermore, it had no air... more

We stopped over in Santa Barbara for one night on our way down the coast. We drove up to this hotel and booked the last room they had. It was smoking but to be honest didn't smell too strongly. It lost a star for me as I felt the price was a little high as they knew other hotels in... more

Booked at last minute as we only decied to stay the day before but it was a real bargain, $120 for a room with seperate bedroom and 2 bathrooms which was used by 5 of us on a weekday. I was not expecting anything special for that price but all was ok. We didn't spend too much time in the... more

We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at the Sandpiper Lodge. We were in town and needed a room at the last-minute. There was an opening and we took it. The office staff was both friendly and helpful and the room was very clean (important to us) and neat. It was a bargain for a late Saturday night opening which... more

The place looks nice. The room looked nice, but had an unpleasant smell. There was a lot of noise coming from the parking lot all night. People were partying, slamming doors, and running around like on a kids camp. We called the office around midnight and asked if this was considered "acceptable". They promised to "check it out". Well, nothing... more

Three of us stayed in their "family suite", which was nice and roomy with a separate bedroom with 2 double beds. The room was clean and looked nice on the surface. Lots of sink/counter space, decent closet space, a little mini-fridge. They have free wireless internet now which made me very happy. We had some plumbing issues with the toilet,... more

The location was good, just off the freeway, near restaurants; good for a quick getaway, but totally over-priced, and a sub-par facility and customer service. We asked for and thought we got a non-smoking room, but the pillows reeked of cigar smoke. When we told management about the odor, they couldn't care less. The bathtub was cracked and stained, the... more

When I checked in the desk staff went out of their way to help us. They offered us a map of the town and took their time to make sure we knew where we were going. Later in the evening the guest beside me became very noise and with one call to the desk it was resolved. The evening security... more

Our 6 night visit to the Sandpiper Lodge was not as bad as I expected, considering latest reviews posted before I left. Upon arrival, the desk clerk was not at all friendly, but we did not see him again the whole trip, and the other employees were much better. The two bedroom unit we had fit our needs well. There... more
