A nice, spacious place that's lost in the '60s. The decor makes you think Sammy Davis Jr. will come walking through the lobby. Don't be deceived with the name of this hotel...It's certainly not in or near an island! The hotel itself is not spectacular but the service is absolutely wonderful. My husband surprised me for our one year anniversary with tickets for a concert t the honda center and a wonderful overnight stay at th island hotel. i was truly impressed. courteous valet, doormen and frontdesk staff. the room was spotless and large. the bathroom was also super roomy and LOVE the l'occitane products. room service was quick and friendly... more

I highly recommend this hotel. The service was excellent. The rooms are beautiful. The amenities are first class.The view to the ocean-especially at sunrise and sunset and across the street to Fashion Island were spectacular.
