Overall: Very comfortable and tasteful with great service; we used the Sofitel as our base to explore Buenos Aires on a recent one week vacation. Atmosphere was a nice mix of tourists and business people. Room: We stayed in two different rooms over the course of a several night stay -- both were standard rooms. Of the hotel's standard rooms,... more

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel for 3 nights, prior to a cruise around the Horn. I had researched hotels, had written a few, and finally booked through Tablet Hotels, who only recommend the very best. They called it "Traditional Elegance" and gave it 19 out of 20 points. I can't imagine what the missing point was for.... more

Its the quality of service that makes the Sofitel stand out. We stayed here for the first week of our honeymoon, we got a great room and complementary champagne - they really went out of their way to make us feel special. The staff could not do enough for us. It is a classy hotel located in a central area,... more

I will echo all the positive things said about this hotel by prior reviewers and add one more thing. In addition to being elegant and fabulous, this hotel feels very private. While in Buenos Aires, we strolled over to the Alvear Palace Hotel to see what we were missing. As it turned out, the only thing we were missing was... more

We spent three nights in this hotel and had an excellent experience. Very classy hotel located in a quiet street within walking distance from La Recoleta area and the Florida pedestrian area. Breakfast was included in the price and was of very good quality and with a large selection. One night we had dinner at the restaurant Le Sur and... more

A luxury hotel with all the trimmings. No significant gripes. You certainly get what you are paying for. Not a convenient location for exploring on foot. You have to cross one of those 'widest streets in the world' to get to Recoleta and it takes 20 minutes to get there on hoof, but the staff can easily call you a... more

We just returned from a cruise to Anarctica on the MV Discovery. As part of our cruise land package we were booked into the Sofitel. The Hotel was fantastic from the moment we arrived at 7AM after a long overnight flight and they let us check in right away. The normal check in time is 3:00pm and we were worried... more

Our stay in November 2007 was our second stay in 14 months. When we decided to return to Buenos Aires we had no hesitation in returning to his hotel. Both stays were for holidays rather than business (not that it makes a difference for this hotel). You get great service from all the staff and good sized rooms. It is... more
