We booked with plane/hotel group fare. Their pictures on the internet are not as good as what is really there. However, it was pretty nice! we just got back from Thailand for our 5th trip... this time a little disappointed in the resort. We read all the other reviews and thought why not. Booked through quantas and it was pretty cheap! We booked a Junior Suite with QANTAS Holidays at this marvellously quieter location just north of Patong Beach on a special deal, which worked out to about $70 AUD a night for the room, plus a free Thai massage and one free set menu Dinner. Our family booked into the Sunset Beach resort after reading mostly positive feedback on this site. We were very impressed to find it was all we expected and more! We took a package with flight centre and before booking i checked tripadvisor for other peoples opinions of sunset beach and we took the punt. We were very pleasantly surprised. The resort is situated just out of Patong in Kalim beach, it is right on the beach (just the road separating) and the views from the bar and front section... more
