Jumeirah run a bunch of hotels around the world. That in itself should say "good quality" or "sure bet". Bab Al Shams delivers on location and facilites, but staff managemnt sucks. We stayed at the Bab Al Shams for 5 days from the 16th August 2007. We were a party of 5, 2 adults, three kids, ages, 16, 13 and 11. This is an absolutley amazing place, we had a fabulous time, and wouldn't hesitate in going back. But beware! It is exackly what is says it is, a 5 star... more

The hotel is nice... but it's not in the real, authentic desert you imagine (or at last I imagine), with golden dunes and no lights but night. Al Hadheera restaurant, it's expensive and meal is worse than Al Forsham, where you pay the show more than the food. BTW, we had a bad experience in Al Hadheera, as our table... more
