We were booked in the Swissotel by International Expeditions as the "launch point" for our Amazon voyage, the "regrouping point" between the Amazon and Machu Picchu, and the "getting it together point" after Machu Picchu before heading home. A very modern facility with clean, bright rooms and excellent restaurants as well as reasonably priced gift shops. Excellent local restaurants are... more

This Swissotel really surprised me on the upside. On the website it looked like a massive business hotel which it is, but the facilities are also great to relax after a hard day of work. They have a lovely heated outdoor pool, gym, sauna and massages for around $60. Also the service was really excellent, the staff were very attentive.... more

The hotel far exceeded my expectations. The room, staff, restaurant, and service were top notch. I could not complain about anything. Swissotel is beautiful, grand and clean. I am a woman traveling by myself, but I felt very safe at the hotel. It was also very helpful that the entire staff spoke English too. Since my Spanish is weak, I... more

This is an excellend hotel, I stayed for 5 nights , was a business trip. It has really good staff, friendly and helpful. Good rooms, nice beds, very clean, quiet and high quality hotel. The gym is good I used it everyday, looks out over the pool area. The hotel is located in a good area, San Isidro. The only... more

Excellent hotel. Definitely 5 stars. We stayed twice during a two week vacation. Both rooms were very nice. The bathrooms were huge! We had a view of a 1500 hundred year-old pyramid from our window. They illuminate it at night, quite beautiful. The breakfast was very nice. We were there on Sunday morning and the breakfast included the brunch. They... more

I have stayed at the hotel several times for work, so my review is based on several stays in 2006 until April 2007. In terms of service, the doorman and concierge staff are excellent and professional as you would expect. The housekeeping and room service staff I could not fault during my times there. I ate several times in the... more

The hotel charged me for a night that I did not spend there. When I contacted them by e-mail to point out the error, I didn't get any response. To the American Express investigation, they said that the charge was legitimate. When I finally used a local friend to contact the hotel, they finally called me and said that it... more

This is a modern hotel in a safe but uninspiring suburb of Lima. The hotel has everything a traveller could want. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurants were good. I would certainly stay there again. more

AMBIENCE - european feel, classy/sophisticated atmosphere, all staff are good-looking, and taller than general population. It caters to a lot of businesspeople, so if you're looking for a party/singles type of environment, this is not it. ROOM - 4 out of 5 stars - White sheets, clean, spare, yet warm and inviting. I hate going to a hotel where frilly... more

We spent three nights at the Swissotel while on tour in Peru (Amazon River cruise, and Machu Picchu). This is a really nice hotel, well staffed to meet the needs of groups. Rooms are large, beds are very comfortable, bathrooms are large and well equipped, and dining facilities are excellent. Staff are very accomodating, and there is a large business... more
