We were in Juli 2008 for 3 nights in the standard rooms. The achievement at the price is very good. Rooms are quiet. The cigarettes and kitchen smell is disturbing by the air conditioning system in the bathroom. more

I stayed in Singapore with my family for two weeks and was really impressed by the Grand Copthorne Waterfront. The location is ideal and you can walk right into the city centre and tourist attractions although I only realised this later in the week. Singapore is very confusing to cover on foot but taxis are cheap enough so we caught... more
This hotel (as well as Singapore) were very disappointing. The staff upon check-in were rude and looked like they did not want to be there – smile for goodness sakes! You work in hospitality! My room was dirty (carpet stains) and the washroom had torn towels in it. The soap was not enough to wash your hands and the closet... more
We stayed at this hotel by default but it was a nice interlude to an horrific journey during the Qantas engineer strikes. Our room was very clean and spacious (we weren't on an Exec level which seem to be smaller). The bathroom well appointed and a good walk in wardrobe complete with ironing facilities. Breakfast buffet was at a high... more
This was the one 5 star hotel I stayed at on my trip to Singapore. The lobby was top notch but my room a bit worn - chipped furniture - but otherwise the rooms and service were fine. The pool was also quite nice and very clean, though not that big. What really got me was the lifts. In order... more
I recently spent a night at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel when my flight from Singapore to Japan was cancelled. The airline provided the hotel and two meals in the hotel's restaurant for its stranded passengers. Check in was very quick and efficient, especially considering the number of people the front desk staff had to deal with from the cancelled... more
We were travelling with our 2 young sons (12 & 9) and our travel agent made a reservation for a room with at least 2 double beds to accomodate all 4 of us. Unfortunately this hotel does not apparently have rooms like this. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and told that we had been given a complimentary upgrade to... more
Securing a discount rate, I expected that we would stay in the hotel's worst room. Check in was quick and efficient considering we were first-time guests. Perhaps Lady Luck or my guardian angel was smiling, but the room was terrific: quiet, good bed with crisp linen, a great bathroom and suffcient toiletries. The swimming pool was first class, and pool... more
It's fine and clean but even with the exorbitant rates in Singapore, I don't think this should be classified as a 4-star hotel. The public areas are quite nice but the rooms need total upgrades. Stains on the walls, dingy, banged up furniture, dark bathrooms. Unfortunately, I landed in Singapore during a HUGE conference so most other hotels were booked... more
Paid US $320 for the Superior room which was moldy, smelly and basically the type of room you would get at a US $100 Days Inn. Complained but couldn't get upgraded to anything better. I would highly recommend not to stay here for more than it is worth (US $100). Great service, nice lobby but this doesn't compensate at all... more
