We stayed at the Penn for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay however there were some pluses and minuses to this hotel that we wanted to share: Pluses: We told them it was our anniversary and they had a free bottle of wine in our room upon our arrival---Nice touch! The Club Floor is worth the extra money and... more

After reading all the great reviews we were expecting something magical. Don't be fooled this is a tired, ageing hotel with rooms looking more like a 2 star property than 5 star. Definately not a world class hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Beds were so hard that you might as well of slept on the floor, Bathrooms also... more

My husband and I had a wonderful 5-night stay at Beijing's The Peninsula in mid-March 2008. The hotel’s very fancy lobby houses not only a classy bar area, complete with live piano and violin music, but also an upscale mall with dozens of stores like Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Channel, and similar boutiques. Fortunately, it also has one of the hottest... more

After having horrible experience in the hotel booked through our travel package, I booked Peninsula directly. Definitely a great move as all staff spoke English, the room was excellent for the price (we got upgraded after the staff heard our horror story), the staff were very professional, friendly and ready to help. The food was expensive but worth it. Worth... more

We stayed in the Peninsula Hotel Beijing for nearly a week last July after finding out about the hotel on this website and booking it on their webpage! The minute we walked into the magnific lobby we loved it! The shops! The music! The space! When were shown up to our rooms, well, we were very impressed ! There was... more

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days. Firstly found booking using the package which is cheaper than just booking the room often! - met at the airport, very efficient, driven in a very good car directly to the hotel, swiftly booked in, given great advice and reasonably priced tours (chose my own, sort of pick & mix, it included... more

Our entire experience surpassed our expectations during our 4 night stay.In my opinion the best location in the city. Can walk or take the subway everywhere esp now that new subway lines are opening up in time for the Olympics. We booked on their website an Executive suite which included airport transfers and club-lounge access for less than $300 usd a... more

I chose this hotel from all the great reviews out there plus a lower winter rate. My stay was split into 2 visits, with 1 day in between. The first 2 nights I booked the Executive Suite. The only major complaint I have for this hotel is the size of the room. Otherwise all else was perfect. The service there... more

Overall, this was a fabulous hotel. I visited on vacation but this hotel would also work well for business travel. I look forward to returning here. The room was beautiful with contemporary Asian decor and the bathroom was spa-like. The pictures on the Peninsula website are very accurate, up to date depictions of the hotel. I recommend including the breakfast... more

I stayed at the Peninsular with my wife and teenage son, taking advantage of a special offer on the web site to get a Beijing Suite on the club floor at a very good rate of 2500 RNB / day. We spend most of our holidays at top end hotels, preferring Four Seasons where possible. No Four Seasons in Beijing... more
