We got a great deal through wotif at this amazing hotel which we found out a few days before our stay was the first 5 star hotel in Australia back in 1968. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a king deluxe room and it was just amazing - very sophisticated and elegant. Great location, just unlucky for us we... more

Stayed in Perth about 8 weeks ago, spent most of the time at the Hyatt (awesome hotel) as compared to the Hilton. Tho the hilton is in a better location. I found the staff, service, all round quality of the property below par. Everything about them was either about cutting corners or trying to squeeze as much as they could... more

I stayed here for one night while in Perth for work. The hotel was in a good location for work (in the centre of the city, walking distance to main office buildings and shops). The staff were polite and efficient, the room was clean and adequately sized (although the decor was quite dated), and it was reasonably quiet. The bathroom... more

Getting There: While a taxi likely will be a little faster, I would recommend (especially for those traveling solo) taking the Airport City Shuttle, which meets each flight. A taxi will cost about $25 (Australian) each way; the shuttle runs $25, including return. Plus, if your hotel is not the first stop, you can travel through the city and get... more

I spent a week at the Hilton Parmelia for work purposes in June 2008. Although this was my first trip away from home for a significant period (being a "stay at home" kind of person - 1 week is significant for me!), I did not feel home sick at all! - Facilities - I could tell that this hotel is... more

This hotel was dirty, noisy and expensive and was in need of complete refurbishment. The first room given to us was next to the lifts and was dingy, the room was changed to a better room which overlooked the building site at the rear. The circulation spaces were noisy and most rooms had crammed extra guests in,to exceed the numbers allowed per... more

We got a decent prepaid rate for a king-sized bedroom over Easter weekend. We were generally pleased with the large room and comfy bed and pillows. Management also left a chocolate Easter bunny in our room on Saturday night which was a nice touch (not sure whether this was because I'm Hilton Silver...) The location is very good: walking distance... more

got a twin room for a night on special, $99...what a bargain! glad i didn't pay more, the hotel is unremarkable, check in was about as pleasant as standing in an airport queue, the room was cramped and stuffy, bed and pillows surprisingly uncomfortable (despite the 'pillow menu' which allows you to choose from a variety of pillows i could... more

The Parmelia Hilton has a good position. In the downtown area, in the CBD with easy walking to shops and the river. And that’s about it. It badly needs a makeover. Small cramped reception area with hardly any space outside for cars and taxis to pull in. Small dark rooms. Old fashioned dark furniture with stains, chips and burn marks... more

Don't get me wrong, the people working at the Hilton are great, from the bellmen to the manager. They just happen to be stuck in a hotel that time and corporate have forgotten. While Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and famously Sydney have been redone partially or in full. The standard rooms are so tired looking they're nearly comatose. The TV's pop... more
