The Sebel is well-located, just 5-10 minutes walk from the Aquarium/Southbank one way, 5-10 minutes from Myer/David Jones in the other. A conversion of an old bank it has some lovel nineteenth century architecture. The studio we had was large, good quality fittings and perfectly comfortable. Staff were keen to help with directions etc and the breakfast was reasonable -... more

We stayed here in Jan 2007. it was the first hotel we stayed in Aus-NZ trip and we were not too sure of what to expect or to compare with. But Sebel was very good. We missed the Sebel facilities we got in all the other hotels we stayed in for the rest of our trip. Locality to centre of... more

We had a 2 story loft room, the bedroom and main bathroom being upstairs and the lounge, ktichen and second bathroom on the entry level. The room has a huge window which overlooks the pleasant Queen St. We did not have noise problems from the laneway which other reviewers mentioned as we were on the street side. View of trees... more

My husband and I toured Australia November/December last year and we booked a one bedroom suite at The Sebel in Melbourne midway through our trip. The suite was everything and more we could want - a large lounge area, spacious kitchen with all the amenities, dining table and four chairs, perfectly ample bedroom with en-suite bathroom consisting of the normal... more

The Sebel on the corner of Collins and Queen Streets is Melbourne is a beautifully restored old bank building. My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom apartment with it's own kitchenette and a combination washer and drier in the bathroom. Having studiously read the past reviews about this hotel on TripAdvisor, I requested a room on a higher... more

I stayed here with my Dad for three nights and we had a great time. We were on the 8th floor with a streetscape view - what you would expect for a Melbourne CBD location. Our suite was spacious and the sofabed in the sitting room very comfortable. The bathroom had everything we needed and though trivial I must mention... more

I stayed two nights last week. I had a room in the Heritage part and they are great. Quite large with a separated lounge and table. The small kitchen is handy too. Quite clean and newish. The bathroom was large and clean. Some stations were missing off the TV. I would not bother with breakfast here. I started with their... more

Reading the previous reviews I was a bit wary of booking at the Sebel but with the other good reviews and looking at the photos I thought it was worth the risk. After 2 night stay I share the negatives but also agree with some of the positive comments. Pros: 1) Location is fine. Convenient for anything central. 2) Building... more

I stayed here with a friend in March 2006 and absolutely loved it. No matter what hotel I've stayed at though, there has always been something going wrong or something less than pleasing, but my stay at the Sebel was lovely and everyone was helpful. The only problem we had was the television not working, which didn't bother us but... more

This boutique gem in the heart of the Melbourne CBD is nothing short of a well kept secret. The rooms were fresh, well decorated and very stylish. The location smack in the middle of all Melbourne has to offer is nothing short of superb. Just a short stroll to the food and coffee (ahh, the coffee) of Degraves Place, Little... more
