What a wonderful little gem. We had a spare night before a family wedding and so decided to book on a whim. Upon arrival we couldn't have been greeted in a more welcoming manner. We arrived in Sydney very early and they were more than happy to hold onto our luggage whilst we were out and the room was being... more

We booked the Medusa for our honeymoon trip to Sydney on the recommendation of a friend. It was a wonderful stay, and we'd totally stay again. But, let me give some context... The Medusa is neither the most luxurious hotel in Sydney nor the best located. But, if you want a very fine boutique hotel that sets you in a... more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Medusa Hotel -- and would definitely return. The staff was great -- friendly, helpful, with lots of insider information on where to go in town. You can't beat the location if you want to experience living in Sydney as opposed to staying in a touristy hotel downtown. The Medusa is within 1-2 blocks... more

We stayed in the medusa for two nights while in Sydney, what a dissapointment, the place is really not much more than a backpackers that charges five times as much as it claims to be a boutique hotel ! , they have maxed out the number of bedrooms in the property by having nothing else apart from a front desk... more

We spent 3 days at the Medusa Hotel during our first trip to Sydney. The hotel was well maintained and the staff very friendly. We stayed in one of the hotel's Grand Rooms which was large, airy and artfully decorated. Located in Darlinghurst, the hotel is still close enough to the main tourist areas (Circular Quay and Opera House)that one... more

My husband and I stayed in this hotel between Christmas and New Year 2005. Our room was very compact - the wardrobe housed everything including the kitchen sink: tv, stereo, kettle, microwave, iron, ironing board and even some room for our clothes. However, the cafitere for two and proper coffee was great, as was the lindt chocolates on the pillow... more

A friend and I stayed in the Medusa for only one night in November 2004. From the warm greeting we received upon check-in, to the truly expansive and lovely room we received overlooking the central garden, the Medusa did not disappoint from start to finish. It's a great location -- an easy walk from both Oxford Street and the Darlinghurst... more

Looks great on the web, fantastic pictures. Not so good in real life. We stayed in the Grand Room. Furniture was slightly damaged, TV set was old with faulty sound, cubicle bathroom was small, cold and the toilet was dirty. Kitchenette had full garbage bin, no coffee of any description nor Lindt chocolates (both promised in the advertising). Street noise... more

The Medusa is a boutque hotel in Darlinghurst Road. An converted Vcitoria terrace, it oozes character - but without the grunge! Designer decor makes all the difference. Rooms have a great kitchenette area, ideal for those lazy nights or afternoons in. Guests have access to an in-house cd and dvd library. Staff ever so helpful. Recommended for romantic getaways or... more
