The hotel itself was ok but a few things let the whole place down. Firstly the staff weren't that helpful, got the impression that they dealt with a lot of troublesome travellers and so anyone aged under 30 wasn't worth bothering with. The bar was poor and closed incredibly early although with one of the world's great city's on the... more

I was able to get a queen superior for $149 AUD. American Airlines had a quoted rate for government employee (Australian/NZ govt worker) and emailed the hotel that I was an US govt worker on vacation and they extended the rate. I was in Room 301 (or 310) which faced Pitt St and the monorail. The monorail never bothered me.... more

I stayed at the Metro Hotel on Pitt during the last week or so of February. Good points: -Location is good. Right in the middle of the CBD. About a ten-fifteen minute walk to Oxford Street, Circular Quay, and Darlington Harbour. -Service was good, depending on who is at the desk. The guy during the day is not pleasant, but... more

I used www.wotif.com to book and secured a reaosnable price of under A$100 for a Friday night. The receptionist was friendly. The room was small with little spare room but quiet, though its 'view' was ununspiring. However as on my previous visits I slept like a log due to the absence of noise, which is my main requirement. The shower... more

It's a good thing we stayed for one night, before we left Sydney. I knew the rooms were small since I had read the reviews, but it was amusing with all of our luggage in the room and no where to move. We arrived around 11 a.m. and our room wasn't ready so they held our bags. When we arrived... more

Ok, the location was great, only 5 mins walk from the Town Hall Station and easy to find, but the service was terrible and the room was small! I checked in at noon and they said the room wasn't ready so i left my luggages with them. I went back there at 2 and they just threw me the key... more

Nov 2007 - Needed to stay for one night in Sydney before travelling on so found the best rate for this hotel at hotel.com. Very pleased with location which was in the centre of Sydney near CBD. Staff were friendly and helpful whilst the room was nice and clean with plenty of amenties provided. Although the room was not overly... more

THis hotel is only two blocks (5 minutes) from Darling Harbour and 4 blocks (10 minutes) from Circular Quay. Hyde park is one block and the skytrain is practically outside the door. The bedroom was a bit small but the ensuite makes up for this being quite large. We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant which was reasonably... more

Metro on the Pitt is a great value for the money. It's true what the other reviewers have said! The location is great, about a 15-20 min walk to The Rocks and the opera house. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. In addition, the Metro on the Pitt is very reasonable. The rooms are small, but comfortable. The bathroom and... more
