We stayed at this hotel with a Beavis coach party. We were apprehensive prior to arrival due to the poor reviews, however we were happy with our stay[it is a 3 star hotel afterall.]The room was on the small side but clean and in the process of renovation e.g new heated towel rail ,new radiators in the corridors[could do with a new... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 days at the end of October. Very disappointing. The room, although fairly large, was very dirty. The windows were filthy, the main window was badly cracked, the balcony door could not be locked so the room was insecure throughout our stay (we had to try and wedge a chair underneath... more

Stayed at hotel as had wedding over bank holiday weekend. We had bags with us and wanted to leave in our prepayed for room, we arrived at 2:30 and were told that Checkin was 3:30, these days this is extremely inflexible and not very customer friendly! Hotel surrounds could do with updating as well as how they offer customer service... more

Bar prices rather on the expensive sid. tea ,snacks available during the day in the lounge or front conversatory at reasonable prices.- a pot of tea whilst watching the world pass by is... more

First impressions of my partner and me: very good. Huge mirrors, sparkling chandeliers, colourful imitation Art deco table lamps in the public rooms. Very bright and welcoming atmosphere. We were overjoyed when we realised our room(which had new furniture) had a large patio, with furniture, leading to a pretty garden and aviary. Most unusual feature and we found the plastic... more

Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Food was varied and good. Rooms O.K. but could have been cleaner, bathrooms need updating. Overall the Hotel needs a make over. Would go again. more

Spent the weeekend at the Mansion Hotel for a Black tie evening on the Saturday. This Hotel needs a major refurbishment it is very tired looking and dated. We found the decoration in the communial areas almost funny with plastic animals being dotted around the reception area and a full scale plastic farm yard in the rear garden. Rooms felt... more

Me and a group of 20 people, went to this hotel for a holiday in December 2004. I had read the other reviews and was sceptical before travelling. When i arrived the reviews could not be more wrong. The hotel has recently been taken over and the new owner has really put out all the stops. They have decorated and... more
