Nice try at design, but incredibly unpractical. LOTS of sharp edges in the rooms. Very THIN walls. The doors in the hallways are always slamming. Average breakfast. Nice staff. GREAT beds. This was booked thru a friend of a Hen party I went with. I have stayed in Amsterdam six times before and for ease (and less expense) try to stay as near to central station as possible! Just returned from a 3 night stay at the V in Frederiksplein. I agree with InspectorBaggaley's review below. The hotel is well designed and quirky, with high quality finishes and fittings. We stayed at the hotel when it had just opened and advertised being a four star design hotel, so we expected a funcky design, cool new clean rooms and nice bed. The floors in the room were black looked well worn and so cold, my partner hardly feels the cold and could not walk on the floors in bare feet.... more
