My husband and I just spent four wonderful nights (and mornings and afternoons) at Matteo's beautiful new small elegant hotel on the Grand Canal. His great hospitality creates a house party atmosphere where guests are treated, and treat each other, like old friends. The wonderful terrace, for breakfast and evening spritzers and whatever else you'd like, provides the remarkable setting.... more

Booked a 2 night stay at The Al Ponte Antico based entirely on reading previous reviews and I have to say, the customer service and attention to detail at this hotel are second to none. As mentioned in other reviews, Matteo (the owner) greets you on arrival at the hotel by your first name, and along with all the other... more

This hotel really gets you in the Venice mood with its friendliness and location in the heart of the action. We were two people in an inner room (no view). It was quite large, and included a king and a comfortable fold out sleeper couch, both comfortable. The bathroom is huge with the jacuzzi tub that is so relaxing. Two... more

I’m looking for a room for the Heineken jammin festival Police concert, June 22 2008 I love the Police. The mix of Sting’s grooves, Copeland’s hi-hat spicy playing and Summers’ harmonics mistress make me crazy. But the tour date in Venice is also the chance to come back to meet Matteo and all the staff of this little hotel with... more

We just returned from our trip to Venice to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary ! We selected Al Ponte Antico Hotel in Venice based on the ratings from trip Advisor. It was a wonderful boutique hotel ! The location is magnificent, the balcony looks into the Grand canal and has a wonderful view of the Rialto bridge. It used to... more

My husband and I were very fortunate to have found this hotel through trip advisor (thank you!) Every review you will read about this hotel does not do it justice. It honestly is a remarkable little hotel which feels more like an inn with an outstanding staff. We stayed for only 3 nights and it felt like we were not... more

As reported, Matteo does do a superb job running this wonderfully decored boutique hotel right near the Rialto Bridge. Pros: Matteo, housekeeping and the night staff addressed my wife and me by name EVERY time they saw us. Matteo, being a man of effusive mien, never lets an opportunity for lengthy discussions on the wonders of Venetian life pass him... more

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and spent 3 weeks touring Italy. Matteo and this hotel are still the subject of many of our stories. And we stayed in many 4-5 star hotels. This place has it all. Service, location, spacious rooms with a view and gourmet breakfast on the terrace every morning and wine in the evening... more

Staying here enhanced our trip to Venice ten fold - helpful and friendly staff, magnificent rooms, fabulous views and a central location. During our too brief visit, we were treated like royalty by all the friendly and helpful staff. They were more than willing to talk to us about the city and advise us where to go to eat, the... more
