If you want fancy, don't go here- If you want a local house, convenient location, good service-and reasonable price-this is it. The only complaint we had--two adult women traveling with a teenager and a 22 year old were the holes in the bedspreads from cigs. Our rooms were clean, bathrooms ok, and hot water good- The staff was very helpful... more

I work in the construction industry and was sent to Dublin for a 3 month contact by the company I work for. They booked the B&B. The room was damp and smelly with the basics: - TV, phone, tea/coffee making facilities. What it did NOT have was hot shower water on demand. I was booked into a twin room with... more

The room was dirty. None of the crockery/cutlery in the dining room matched. The owner could not have been less helpful. We were quoted one price for the room but had the rates jacked up when we came to pay. Our complaints were laughed off. The guestbook is full of many similar complaints. Avoid this place like the plague. There... more

I recently stayed in this hotel and found that was pretty good. The room (a twin) was spacious and clean with a big enough bathroom. Also the staff were helpful and breakfast was ok. The major advantage for me was that it was within walking distance to O' Connel street and the Temple Bar. A disadvantage was that it tended... more

Just back from a stay here. Room was spacious (even for an active toddler) and clean with plenty of storage, TV, Kettle and towels. Room and ensuite shower were cleaned daily to a high standard. There was plenty of hot water and the shower was powerful enough even on the 1st floor. The room was private and quiet at the... more

I booked this hotel for a 2night stay for 4 adults in April 07. We had really looked forward to the trip as i was taking my sister and brother-in-law who were visiting from Australia. Sadly the hotel spoilt our entire trip. The hotel staff are extremely friendly; however the rooms were disgusting. They absolutely reeked of tobacco even though... more

The website for this hotel made it seem quaint and cozy. This was not the case! My husband and I ended up with a room that had four beds, a dingy/dirty feeling, and a really small bathroom. When we walked up to the hotel from across the street, we almost turned around and walked away without even checking in. It... more

We booked this hotel for Four days over New Years Eve 2007 a month ahead-the hotel only appears to be a guesthouse and so we thought we had got a good deal for the four nights. We booked through an agency website, hostels.com and paid a deposit. we later received an email from the phoenix park hotel directly saying they... more

Dispite other reviews I did not think this was a horrible B&B. I stayed here over St. Patrick's Day weekend and it was one of the only properties that had open rooms. Because of the holiday the rooms were more expensive and not really worth what we paid, but we were paying more than the average price. Ideally, I would... more

I am not one to write reviews normally, but felt compelled to do so after staying at Phoenix Park. The room had a horrible damp smell, and was not particularly clean either. We stayed 2 nights and although the maid had been in and made the bed up, we were left with the dirty mugs and spoon from the day... more
