We stayed here for one night in august. We hadn't booked ahead so all we could get was a smoking room but it was fine. The rooms are pretty dated and could do with redecoration but they were clean. After spending a day in Stanley Park is was great not having far to walk to get to the hotel. It... more

Bed Bugs in Room 705. Stayed here 14-17 August when temperature was around 30C. No Air-Con or fan. I have stayed in third world countries and this was my first experience of bed bugs. Never again - I hope! more

The hotel is at a great location. It's easy to walk along Robson or the short walk to Stanley Park. The parking was okay. The room, while clean, was pretty run down. The carpet was dirty and smelled if we didn't keep the window cracked open. It had dishes, pots, pans, refrigerator and electric stove. You need to bring your... more

Just spent a night there with wife and 2 kids and for the price and specially location, it was a good deal. The sofa-bed spring box I slept in with my son had better days so we moved the mattress to the floor, closed the sofa and it was all good. The water was cold at the first shower but... more

Well, about the room, that was a bit outdated and really need some remodeling, if that said, it really has a excelent location central at robson street and short way to stanley park and all downtown vancouver. The vieuw i got to robson street from the 12th floor was absolutely nice, could spend all evening watching the street and the... more

We just stayed overnight at the Tropicana Hotel on Robson St. in Vancouver. I booked it because with five adults, we wanted 2 suites where we could have an economical stay while in town for the theatre. It was definitely economical at 149.00 per suite per night. The location is perfect, right close to Denman, Stanley Park, the West end,... more

The location was very good, within walking distance of Stanley Park, shops, restaurants, marinas and the seabus and public transport in general. The suites were spacious, with separate bedroom and living room. Ours had a pretty good view to two sides and a very small balcony, just for stepping on to for fresh air. There was lots of storage space... more

Upon arriving to the Tropicana, I had the feeling that I was at a rundown Las Vegas hotel. The dresser is in the livingroom rather than the bedroom and the stove is ancient. After the initial shock, I realized that I have free wifi, which works most of the time but most importantly, I am in the heart of the... more

I was in Vancouver in early January 2008. I was originally booked at the Blue Horizon Hotel up the road (at CDN 110 a night) and was extending my stay so wanted a place that was a little cheaper. The Tropicana had availability for about CDN 80 a night and I inspected a suite on the top floor (12th floor).... more

This hotel is situated in the "buffer zone" between downtown and the West End. Quite a lot is within walking distance -- Stanley Park, downtown (shopping, Art Museum, etc.), Yaletown, Gastown, etc. There are abundant restaurants, bars, etc. within a block or two of the hotel. The area appears to be quite safe. The street (Robson) can be noisy at... more
