We stayed at Mezzanine in May and had a great time. We were in one of the two new suites which are in the main building over the restaurant. These are much bigger and more private than the other rooms - they each have a private terrace for sunbathing - but of course a bit more expensive too. They are... more

I have just return from a fantastic 10 holidays in Mexico. Because I am not a big fan of those al in resorts, I decided to book 3 different hotels in beautiful locations. One of them was Al Cielo at the Xpu-ha beach (see review) the Mezzanine in Tulum, and the last evening at the Melia in Cancun. I booked... more

We were unable to travel to Tulum when we found out my wife would have to have emergency surgery the day we were leave on our vacation. It was a real bummer, but Different World Travel contacted Mezzanine and they allowed us to keep credit with the hotel for one year, because of the circumstances. We are rebooking right now.... more

Mezzanine is a beautiful property situated at the end of one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. The owners had thought of anything, including providing beach bags with bottled water. The rooms were comfortable, though the furnishings were basic. The bed (really the most important part of a hotel room) was firm and very comfortable. There was one... more

My wife and I visited Tulum for the first time a couple weeks ago for 3 nights and stayed in one of the Master Suites. I have read reviewer comments about privacy and understand their comments regarding the ocean view rooms. With the Master Suites you get all the privacy you could ever want. I can't comment on value for... more

We stayed at Mezzanine as part of our honeymoon in March 2008. The hotel is conveniently located close by to the Tulum ruins which is great. We did find that the hotel is expensive for what is offered. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. They have the best bed we have ever slept in!!!!! The restaurant is good but... more

Overall, I'd definitely recommend the hotel, with a few caveats. Let's start with the positives: The staff of this hotel was absolutely wonderful. Alex, Oyuki and Mario can always be found in the office or restaurant and will help you with a smile. Alex in particular has a good sense of the restaurants in the area and activities to do,... more

Don't believe any of the reviews you have read! This place is way bettter! Located on the beach, the Mezzanine is a super chic and modern boutique hotel. It managed to make these 40 year olds feel cool and hip. My wife says it's the best hotel we have ever stayed in and I have to agree with her. We... more

My husband found this idyllic spot while web surfing one day. This property is hip and amazing. It has 9 rooms with 3 different types. We stayed 4 nights in the middle option for $285/night, but I believe the others are either $173 and $500. Our room was a beautiful, clean room bathed in light and kissed by wind --... more

My wife and I stayed at Mezzanine for 5 days last week. We were looking for a quiet place to unwind without phones or TV, but we didn’t want to camp on the beach either. Mezzanine provided the perfect fit for our needs. We booked late (just a few weeks before our stay) so the only rooms available were in... more
