We went to celebrate my mom's 50 birthday and everything was O.k., apart from the repetitive breakfast served there until our video camera was stolen from our locked room on our last day there. They didn't want to take any responsability at all, and then proceeded to accuse us of trying to scam them for replacement costs. The proximity to... more

The room was ok, clean but smelled so moldly that all our clothes stank when we had stayed here one night. Some staff in the reception was nice and some were not. The hotel is situated a 10 minutes walk from the central busstation, and a 3 minutes walk to the R1 bus going to the zona hotelera. Cannot really... more

We got stuck in the Hotel Batab by our hotel before we were evacuated during Hurricane Emily. I have NO idea how any one could rate this hotel at more than a ONE - possibly employees, etc. padding the rating? My wife and I have had the unfortunate honor of staying at some crummy places, but this is the worst... more

Spring Break: March 2005 Well, it definitely isn't the hotel zone. There aren't any luxuries, like being able to drink the tap water. When they saw that we had beach towels, they took the towels the hotel supplied away. The complimentary bottle of water was nice and worked for brushing our teeth. The place was clean overall, and I liked... more

I, just got back from Mexico on March 26, myself and 3 of my friends went down for one week. After we booked our trip we looked at the reviews and it scared us. But when we got down there, it was another thing, the entertainment staff was very friendly they made sure we had a great time. The hotel... more

A buddy of mine and I needed a reasonably priced room in Cancun for one night prior to driving to Merida, Mexico, the next day. We stayed at the Hotel Batab in downtown Cancun and discovered that it was just what we needed for a short stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and very affordable. No hidden costs and no... more

My family of 4 stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (I will say nights only), as you probably won't want to spend any of your waking hours there, on 12/31/04 and 01/01/05. My 1st impression was the rooms are very small and dingy, there were alot of small bugs on everything. Don't get me wrong, my wife and I... more

Stayed here for a week in July '04. Can't fault it for the price! It was basic (had 2 double beds, shower, toilet) but was all we needed and the air con was superb!! Definitely recommend this for those on a budget. Plus the location of the hotel is in downtown, so you get to experience the 'real' Cancun with... more

I went with a friend to Cancun for spring break, and we stayed at this hotel. I think that was the best decision I have ever made. It was great. All of the people that worked there were so friendly and accomodating. We have no complaints, and whenever we go to Cancun, this is the only place that we will... more
