I have have been to Mexico several times over the past 20 years and this was by far the worse trip. I have stayed at Acapulco (Grand Mayan Palace) two years ago and loved it. Cancun several times (Rivera Maya Mayan Palace and the Omni Hotel and loved it. Xtapa enjoyed, last year stayed at Puerto Vallart Mayan Palace and... more

We stayed at the Villa Vera for one week, Jan 27-Feb 2 and had a wonderful time. Stayed in room 517. Room was nice but the chairs were not too comfortable. The housekeeping staff did a lovely job. Each day the room was cleaned, fresh towels, bed made with some extra way of folding the comforter back and then placing... more

We used RCI for our lodging for Dec 25-Dec 29, 2007. I've stayed at the Villa Vera one other time using RCI during low season, and got upgraded to a villa then. This time, we were in the "hotel section" at the top of the resort due to the holidays. We were in Room 502, which opened up directly to... more

Another great 10 days at the Villa Vera. The staff especially Israel, Teddy and Antonio are terrific. They make you feel like you are an old friend. The Villa Vera remains a good home base if you are not expecting to be on the beach. It is not for children and the hills and stairs may not make it the... more

First of all, this place was Great! I have read some mixed reviews but can't understand why. Everyone there treated us great. From check-in, to the bellboys, to the daily maid service, and the pool boy. Also the staff at the restraunt were excelent. We were there on a RVC timeshare exchange and had read that you would get an... more

We LOVED Acapulco. Even though June and July are part of the rainy season, it only seems to rain at night in Acapulco (During the day, the difference in temperature from the land to the sea pushes the rain out to sea and it only comes to the coast when the land cools down at night, or something like that!).... more

Villa Vera has an impressive past but the present needs attention. The room and gardens were genuinely superb. The management have some petty ideas and irritating habits of trying to get you to 'tour the resort' - read timeshare touting. They charged US $10 because we put our own cold drinks in their minibar but could not supply a fridge... more

Villa Vera seemed nice at first glance, but after a week it was apparent there were many problems. As RCI members, my wife and I were given the smallest room on the property (#307), with noisy guests above us. When we asked to be moved, the staff informed us of ongoing construction, preventing a room reassignment—we soon discovered that to... more

I had the great opportunity to stay at Hotel Villa Vera for a long weekend in April. Everything was really amazing. The hotel was just off the main strip along the beach. There is delicious restaurants all around, including a small place named Restaurante Flor a block down the hill. This is a great place if you want a truly... more

Villa Vera was very charming. It was a very quiet time at the resort (September) and we had most of the pools to ourselves. I think the best kept secret about this resort is that it has two actual villas. Casa Teddy and Casa Julio each have two wonderful bedrooms, 2 baths +jacuzzis, private outdoor living space (living rooms +... more
