My husband and I spent 4 nights at Charela Inn after first staying at Catcha Falling Star on the cliffs(love Catcha!) We booked a seaview room thru onestop and were given an upgrade to deluxe seaview at check-in. Great way to start our stay! Rooms at Charela don't have the "tropical feel" that we like when we stay in Negrl,... more

Worst of the 3 places we stayed in Negril (Sunset at the palms & Idle Awhile being the other two). Location is the main selling point- Along with Idle Awhile (next door) is on the best stretch of 7 mile beach. Room was ok, could do with a bit of a refurb. Grounds average. I think the staff isn't as... more

Been to quite a few places in Negril, really liked this one, felt almost like A Little Cottage in Negril. Would prefer it over the big all-inclusives every time. It is located on the best stretch of Negril beach, enough space there for everybody, you do not have to fight about a beach chair in the shade. You really get... more

We stayed at this hotel when Firefly cottages up the beach turned out to be the worst mistake we have ever made travelling. The Charela was clean, friendly, has the best beach in Negril, one of the best restaurants in Negril (with their own farm produced meats and veggies!) and is central to everything on and along the beach. We... more

The Charela Inn, what is there to say except it is a beautiful place to stay. It was my third time there and will go back again. The second level beachfront rooms above restaurant and bar are just beautifull, The bathroom is very spaceous. We always take all inclusive, you get the menu for everymeal with lots of choices, something... more

We traveled to the Charela over new year 2007/8. Our bedroom was OK but tired and needed a refurb. The bathroom, however, was awful. The sink was cracked and dirty, the tiles were cracked and the grouting had mold growing on it. The bath/shower screen was disgusting - all in all it needed to be completely made over. That apart,... more

We just returned from a two weeks vacation in Jamaica. We stayed at Charela Inn and got married the first week and then had our honeymoon at The Caves the following week. We were accompanied by 53 guests the first week. Every single one of our guests absolutely loved their trip! I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, friendly,... more

We (family of 4 with 2 teens) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Charela Inn from Aug. 12 to Aug. 18. It is located on a great stretch of beach with soft white sand and palm trees providing the perfect amount of natural shade that we required. The ocean was lovely and warm with a large section roped off for... more

My boyfriend and I frequent Negril quite a bit. We have walked the length of the beach and in our opinion, Charela is located on the best part. All inclusives like Club Riu and Couples swept away and others have fabulous beaches too. Charela's beach is wide and very clean. The rooms are fine. Shower was a bit tricky to... more

My husband I were recently married in Negril. Our regret was that it was not at Charela Inn. What an incredibly beautiful beach property with a lot of palm trees to provide shade. The hotel itself has a very nice, relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. The rooms were very accommodating and clean. Many of our guests stayed here and loved it. We... more
