My husband and I stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon. We spent 3 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. I will say though that 3 days is probably one too many for sightseeing in Santo Domingo. I think 2 days is plenty. The location of the hotel is great! In the Colonial Section part of town the hotel... more
This is hotel discriminte against black people. I stayed there with a white friend of mine and everytime i had to enter the hotel they made me show my room key. Never once they ask my friend for his own and i was the one who paid for the hotel. They refuse to let me into the hotel if i... more
Enchanting colonial building, just in front of the pier of cruising ships. Impressive breakfast in the internal patio. A pity staying only one night... Perfect service. more
We are just back from a 3 night stay at this hotel and let me tell you we travel quite a bit and this is one of the best and nicests hotels we have ever stayed at. Check in was without any problems - and we loved the cool towels and fruit... more

After a party that ended at midnight, we had employees yelling and singing right outside our room. The front desk was... more
From the cool moist towel at check in to the turn down service with cookies, this is a place to be pampered with the tremendous plus of being in the very heart of the Zona Colonial. You do not even have to walk out the door to be immersed in history, but if you do, there are historic "firsts" in... more
Actually booked a room at the Sofitel Frances but it was overbooked and I got moved to Nicolas de Ovando. I had no problem wih this as Nicols de Ovando is supposed to be the more upscale of the 2 and is only a few blocks away. Staff was as friendly and helpful as could be though our room did... more
