1. Holiday Inn Chicago-City Centre (Navy Pier)
Ave price:
$224

A high-rise hotel just steps from Navy Pier (as indicated by the name...duh), it served as a nice "home base" for the weekend. A few blocks away from Michigan Avenue, but it's nice to escape the crush of people. |

2. Ed Debevic's Short Order
| A themed diner that's lots of fun for everyone. We stuffed ourselves on giant burgers, a mound of crispy French fries, and a REAL cherry Coke (yes, they actually flavor it cherry, vanilla, or chocolate...yum!) "Rude" waiters/waitresses who double as "dinner-tainment' added to the experience. |

| A splurge for a drink and a slice of cheesecake, it was the perfect start to our night on the town. I had my first Mojito here, and a slice of some white chocolate concoction...could there be a better combination? |

| When you get on the elevator, exit one floor below the observation deck and instead go to the "lounge" for your view. Yes, you'll pay just about as much for your drink as you would have for your admission to the observation deck, but they view at night this way is unbeatable! |

| The highlight of our trip, by far. I have never laughed so hard in all my life. Certainly the pitcher of Long Island Iced Tea helped a little, but a great show nonetheless. |

6. Marshall Field's
| The Original. Yes, you might have a Marshall Field's at your local shopping mall, but this is a destination. It reeks of Chicago-ness! An architectural landmark on State Street, it's worth even a short visit. |

7. Big Bowl Asian Kitchen
| Fun for a Satruday night dinner, Big Bowl has tasty Pad Thai, crazy beverages, and a funky modern atmosphere. |

| It's free for a reason...it's tiny, but a great afternoon diversion. |

| Lots to do, see, taste, smell, etc...a great opportunity to experience Lake Michigan. |

10. The Billy Goat Tavern
| It's not the original, but you still get the same cheap "Chee-burger Chee-burger" atmosphere and greasy food. Yum! |
