It's been five years since the first review and not much has changed. I walked this trail last weekend during a warm spell. I parked my van just south of the Visitor's Center at Mission San Jose and walked to Mission San Juan. It was a hot, exposed trail along the San Antonio levy. The few pecan trees offered no... more
sorta hard to traverse, but worth it when you view the old missions, one of which i liked better than the alamo. take a couple three hours to do the whole deal. a good afternoons history entertainment. take a map, and dont get lost...enjoy! more
The Mission Trail is wonderful, but you certainly had better drive. This is NOT a walking (pedestrian) trail as stated. In any case be sure and go on the Mission Trail as part of your trip here. There are so many wonderful missions, many of them much more beautiful than the Alamo. In actuality, the Alamo is a tad boring... more
Don't even think about walking this trail. It is way too long and takes you into neighborhoods you don't want to be walking in and into rural areas without much civilation. Definitely worth checking out if you have a car. Bring plenty of bottled water if you're walking around the missions. Otherwise you'll be sorry. more
