This was a great experience. 1. Sunday morning July 13th 2008, 10am - not busy at all 2. New visitor center (opened April 2008) is FANTASTIC 3. My family and I spent the day at Gettysburg June 9th and enjoyed ourselves. New Visitor's center had only been open 6 weeks. Very nice......has free museum with interactive computers and lots of artifacts and quick movies. My family with a 10 year old and 8 year old spent almost 2 hours in there alone. We visited during our vacation to Gettysburg. The new visitor's center is huge and very informative. I recommend taking a tour bus with guide through the park because otherwise we wouldn't have been able to sit and enjoy the trip as much. more

We were in the Hersey area and noticed gettysburg was a short distance away. We decided to drive down without really knowing what to expect or to do.
