We had promised our 4-year old that she would get to see kangaroos and koalas, and she naturally assumed that she would get to touch them. We weren't disappointed—this is by far the best petting zoo that I've ever been to! After a bit of debate between spending over A$100 for 3 adults and 2 toddlers to go to Taronga... more

Featherdale Wildlife Park is great for seeing many different animals that are native to Australia in one place - koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras, crocodiles, wombats, tasmanian devils, and an assortment of birdlife. We were able to pet a koala (I was a bit disappointed that they wouldn't actually let us hold one). We saw an albino kangaroo and some beautiful... more

We went to four different animal parks while in Australia and this one was the best one by far. The four we visited were australia zoo, lone pine koala sanctuary, cairns nite zoo and this one. All were nice but this one took the prize because the animals were the most friendly and they had some of every animal that... more

We took a tour to the Blue Mtns and stopped at Featherdale on the way. We loved this place. Coming from Ohio, we wanted to get up close to Australia's wildlife and we were not disappointed. I am not much of a zoo kind of guy and really dislike petting zoos. But this was so much different and better. We... more

This is a great little side trip from Sydney. You can easily take the train and then catch the bus (ask for directions at the train station)--the bus lets you off at the park entrance. We stayed at the park for 2.5 hours--loved getting pics with the koalas, and feeding the kangaroos and wallabees. The park staff are very friendly... more

If you want to get up close to Australia's wildlife, then I guarantee Featherdale is the place to go. We jumped on a day tour to the Blue Mtns and stopped at Featherdale on the way. I fell in love with the joey who greeted us on arrival with his keeper and wanted to take him home with us. We... more

During our last visit to Sydney in October 2006 we visited Featherdale with our 16 month old daughter. PERFECT. We used public transportation to go there. From Sydney Town Hall to Blacktown (about 40 min), then a 10 minutes bus ride took us just in front of the park door. It was a weekday so half empty. The park hosts... more

Featherdale Wildlife Park is in a western suburb of Sydney, and was maybe a 45 minute drive from Darling Harbour. They have all kinds of animals here, such as wallabies, kangaroos, koalas, Tasmanian devils, peacocks, emus and kookaburras. You can feed the wallabies and the kangaroos, which get to roam about freely in certain parts of the park. A park... more

You get to see every Australian native animals here except the platypus. You get to pet the Koala and hand feed Kangaroos, Wallabies and Emu. You can get up close to other animals. The park is compact but you can easily spend more than 2 hours here (adults and kids). It is worth the 1 hour train ride and 5... more

We lived in Sydney for the later six months of 2003. As part of our last trip we deceided to visit Featherdale on a reccomendation from an Australia travel book. And what a great suggestion it was. We stopped at the wildlife park on our way up to the Blue Mountains. We rode the train with a medium sized suitcase... more
