I agree with one of earlier review that this short rail trip is overpriced. Train takes you from New Hope to Lahaska station and making round trip in 30 minutes. Dont consider this a big fun for kids. Dont park in the $15 parking if you only plan to enjoy this ride, use the meter parking on road side. New... more

My husband, 8 month old daughter and I took a ride on the railroad this past weekend. We loved it! We weren't sure whether to choose to ride coach ($15pp) or first class ($23pp)...coach didn't have a/c, but the windows were open, and first class had a/c, but you couldn't open the windows. For an $8 difference per person in... more

The train is expensive, but the restored condition is great. We had first class tickets - which gets you air-conditioning and access to the bar. Both worth the up charge on a hot June day. Another group riding the train at the same time had to pay for the infant riding in her mother's lap. No ticket prices are posted. The man selling the tickets was really unfriendly and barely communicative. Not good for business, I'd... more

It is possible to park for free at the Lahaska station--it was $15 at the New Hope station parking lot when I was there, though they do give a discount if you take the train. You can disembark and spend some time in town and then take the train back, just make sure... more

I've been on the NHI a few times, and I love it. New Hope is a beautiful little town. I recommend the diner across from the station for a quick sandwich before the ride. The ride is a beautiful one through the winding forest of the Delaware Valley. It's beautiful. The conductor, and older man when I went last, is... more
