It's a short ride from Philly over the Ben Franklin Bridge. The aquarium gets packed with school groups so get there early to avoid lines. The exhibits are nice but some of the tanks definitely need cleaning and the place overalll seems short-staffed. There are 3 pettings stations that we noticed:. sharks, rays and starfish. The petting stations are packed... more

We recently packed up the four kids and headed for a day trip to Camden NJ, the aquarium being our destination. An easy 2 hour drive from NYC and just over the boarder from Philadelphia, Adventure Aquarium is situation on the riverfront. My wife had lived in Philadelphia some years ago and knew of the Aquarium, but remembered Camden NJ... more

I have to say that I had a great experience at this aquarium; I'm an avid animal lover and I've never been to this particular place before but I really loved it. The hippo exhibit was fantastic, as well as the shark tunnel. One part of the aquarium had a large tank with a large variety of fish, rays, and... more

I had last visited ths place years ago when it was the New Jersey State Aquarium. At my visit last week I found it enormously improved. It was larger with a great variety of animals and fish. Don't miss the bat fish, the mudskippers, the up-side-down jellyfish and the sci-fi creatures GIANT JAPANESE SPIDER CRABS! My favorite were the hippos... more

We were visiting Philly for a 3-day weekend and decided to spend a few hours at the Adventure Aquarium before driving back to Virginia. We expected to stay maybe 2 hours because we really didn't want to get home late in the day. We ended up staying for 4 hours! We were so impressed with the quality of the exhibits... more

Our family visited the aquarium today. We ended up having a nice time. The kids (3 1/2 and 5) had fun. I am mainly writing to warn future aquarium goers not to waste their money on the 4D show. I promise you it is a total waste of money and time. It is only 8 min. long. It takes longer... more

Took Dad, myself, wife, and 3yr old son to the Aquarium last week. I thought it was a really fun time. There is still some "construction" going on but the only thing we missed was the "touch a shark" exhibit...food was suprisingly good. There were a few exhibits that couldve used more lighting. Excellent view of downtown Philly and Battleship... more

I visited yesterday for the first time since the renovation. The placement of the cafeteria, snack stands and gift shops was a mild annoyance. Eventually my kids got used to hearing 'No' when asking if they could buy something. We paid the extra $5 per ticket for the SpongeBob 4D experience which turned into a 5 minute cartoon in 3D.... more

Today I visited the aquarium for the first, and last time. I found it to be dirty and poorly run. There were foul odors and the water in many of the tanks was dirty. So dirty that you had trouble seeing the fish. In fact it was so bad that you could see the fecal matter in the water. I... more

We went to Sesame Place (Langhorne,PA) on 7/11 and went to Adventure Aquarium the next day (about 40 min. away). We purchased the tickets on-line (I highly recommend this to avoid long lines) and proceeded to an entrance on the side. There were outdoor exhibits and really spectacular exhibits indoors. I thought my 2 and 5 year olds might be... more
