We just returned from Port Douglas and made sure we popped in to see the Cane Toad racing while we were there. It was an absolute hoot, and we loved every minute of it. Can't make comment on the food as we didn't eat there, but the beers were well priced and there were plently of options! But the cane... more

The meal I had AMAZING!!! I started with the carpaccio of Emu, Kangaroo, and Croccodile!! BUENO, a TASTE sensation!!!!! I had the calamari for my entree.. HUGE protions!! Great fun night out. We went with our kids 6,10 and 13 plus our niece 3years old. We were lucky enough to get all the kids up to "race" a toad and bought one in the auction for 50 bucks! Ended up winning a trip on the reef and an exclusive (thats what he told us!!) cap. Great laugh for... more
Fantastic food and the Cane Toad Racing is an absolute must - I haven't laughed so much in ages! The Australian host is so funny and had a one liner for most nationals! Didn't manage to see the Crane Toad Racing but I can throughly recommend this place for it's excellent food and drink! We liked it so much, we ate there twice in one week. Huge, delicous steaks, great value for money. more
The Iron Bar is on the main strip in Port Douglas and it is famous for the cane toad race which takes place twice a week. We went for the Thursday night race.
