Pigeon Island is a fabulous day out - so much so we went there twice. It is maintained by the National Trust so there is a small entrance fee, but it is so worth it. It is a small island now connected to the main island by a causeway created in the 1970s on which the Sandals resort now stands.... more

We have visited the Park twice. It is very peaceful. The bird-watching can be good. The historical buildings are quite interesting. You really get a taste of old St. Lucia strolling around the grounds. The icing on the cake is the climb up to Fort Rodney and Rodney's Lookout at the other end of the island. 6/12/2006 This national park could well be one of the most interesting aspects of St. Lucia. There are many ruins of facilities build by the British military several centuries ago.
