Our stay at the Lefevre House Bed & Breakfast was delightful! We had booked the Brown Sugar room which was immaculate. Although our room did not have an attached bathroom, we had the pleasure of having a full steam room in our bath. Great service, wonderful food and beautiful surroundings! We're already planning out next trip back!! more
We loved our stay here! The Moondance Ridge is a beautiful, spacious B&B with a bright, sunny dining room and well appointed common areas. The gardens are perfect for relaxing in a hammock and enjoying the quiet, country setting. Our room was BIG, immaculate and had a jacuzzi (with fabulous bath salts) which was especially wonderful after our bike ride... more
We had stayed in this hotel @ one year ago and it was okay then. We booked a 2 day stay to end our vacation. The stay was horrible. We were overcharged. Tried to charge for a 10 year old child as an adult!! Good thing I realized it and complained and got our $22 back for the charge!! Also,... more
Mohonk Mountain House may be too expensive to stay at ($600 per night for two), however you can still hike its grounds. We drove to the "day hike" area, parked and paid our fee (I think about $40 for the family). We had an option to take a shuttle to the hotel, or hike 2.5 miles up. Do take the... more
Mohonk Mountain House's location is thrillingly beautiful. And the hotel itself is gorgeous from the outside. Best way to see it is for a day visit to hike the gorgeous grounds and perhaps have lunch (decent but nothing special) at the hotel. If you wish to pay $600 (minimum) or more for a mediocre hotel, go ahead and stay the... more
I stayed at this motel to break up a trip from Montreal, CA to Philadelphia, PA. In my search for places to stay I was looking for something on the cheaper side as I'm someone that simply sleeps and bathes in a hotel room and does not use it for anything else. Even keeping the price in mind, this place... more
Quaint interior. Gracious hosts. Authentic Thai atmosphere at a reasonable price. Lunch has a limited selection for order. Dinners more elaborate in price, are available from the meak to the exotic. Will be back this way again. more
Surrounded by wine country ,hiking trails ,gorgeous views and historical sites, this cozy B&B drenched with European eloquence, entertained my every sense with complete satisfaction. more
This place was very over-priced for the quality. I have been to the Greenbrier, Homestead, etc and this place does not compare. The food was so-so, the service at dinner was very very slow, at breakfast they never refilled coffee or juice, etc. The hallways are quite long making it difficult for elderly to get around, we were charged a... more
I'm giving this place a 3 because sometimes it's very good. My family and I go here at least once a month and most of the time we have a decent meal, but occasionally the food is almost inedible. My husband and I went one evening. I ordered one of the specials, which was pork with spinach and potatoes. The... more
I went here shortly after it opened. The hostess was so busy talking to her friends right by the door that we couldn't even step inside and had to wait outside until she finally decided to stop talking long enough to seat us. The appetizers were good but small and way overpriced. The entrees were for the most part tasty,... more
We had to travel to the Hudson Valley for a wedding and decided to make a short vacation out of it. We stayed at the Maplestone for 4 nights and could not have been happier. The Inn itself is just gorgeous and the hosts Sean and Patty could not have been better. They were so welcoming and helpful with directions,... more
We were looking for a convenient weekend getaway from the city, and the Maplestone was the perfect choice. The owners Sean and Patty do not hesitate to assist you with anything you may need. Everything is thought of to the very last detail: the organic soaps in the bath, the DVD collection for you to enjoy, the small hutch upstairs... more
My husband and I just returned home from a three night stay at Moondance Ridge. We were attending our sons college orientation at SUNY New Paltz and were not expecting this to be a "vacation", but at Moondance it was! It was truly one of the nicest travel experiences we have had; and in the last 12 months we have... more
We ate at La Stazione per our innkeepers recommendations. We were staying at the Moondance Ridge in New Paltz. This being our first time in New Paltz we had no idea of where to eat. Well, thank goodness for Kathy (our innkeeper) who recommended La Stazione. It was excellent. We were hoping for a bit more of a romantic setting... more
I was thrilled to see that Rock da Pasta serves gluten-free pasta with a variety of sauces. I had the "Pesto Palooza" with gluten-free spaghetti, and it was probably the best thing I've ever eaten in a restaurant, and definitely the best thing I've had at a restaurant since I found out I'd have to go gluten-free. I HIGHLY recommend... more
Good Tips: This was our third year visiting the Mohonk for a 15-person family reunion. I cannot say a negative thing about that beautiful place. We (2 boys/family of 4) really enjoy hiking, rock scrambles, mountain biking, catching rainbow trout, swimming and this year I finally went into the spa for a relaxing massage! NOTE: If you book early, ask... more
It is a great deck and overall a nice place especially for drinks but don't order the steak. They claim it is pan seared but it is very pale and looks more like it is cooked in a steam oven. As the table next to us put it - who also was very disappointed in the steak - "they take... more
I've been to island resorts, mountain lodges, luxury hotels, Four Seasons galore, yet Mohonk Mountain House is by far the best place I have ever stayed as a guest. My husband and I and two kids, ages 5 and 8, spent three nights. We hiked every day even when we hurt. We sat in many gazebo structures perched over cliffs... more
