This is a very comfortable modern hotel close to the high street in Bad Homburg - its location is not as good as those looking ontot he nearby Kurpark, but everything is within easy walking ditance. I stayed here in a single room when visiting friends nearby and found it excellent value. Although the hotel is only three star, it is centrally located near the Kurpark, spa, casino etc, it's clean, reasonably comfortable with a good breakfast and helpful staff. more

Plan to spend two or three hours at Taunus Therme. If you're shy, (and don't want to participate in public nudity) you can spend a wonderful afternoon in the largest indoor (and by swimming THROUGH a wall outdoor) pool I've ever experienced. This is a 5 star hotel in the spa town of Bad Homburg. Parking was tight (lots of double parked with keys left at reception). Room was huge but about 12 years since last decoration. The Mercure has tastefully decorated public areas and small rooms with standard ameneties. There is a gas station/conveniece store nearby and although it is not visible from the hotel, a supermarket about a half block away. Located in a suburban neighborhood well outside Frankfurt, about 40 minutes from the airport. Transportation might be an issue for those without a car.... more

This amazing (what shall I call it? spa?) is somewhat famous in Germany, as it is an excellent place to do sauna, and has the splashy attractions of various hot pools, showers, etc. To me the best part is the upstairs, where one can enjoy about 10 different 'stations' for enjoying a true sauna experience. Good location, by a park and a couple of great Spanish and Italian restaurants. Neat older builder, gorgeous room with high, decorated ceilings and antique furniture.
